For Mentees:
- Initiate communication with your mentor. Actively establish a relationship.
- Build a genuine relationship with mentor. Do not seek relationship only for professional advancement.
- Engage in thoughtful communication that will involve topics like, but not limited to, career options, industry insight, The Daily Collegian, collegiate personal advice.
- Be professional in correspondence and communication.
- Act ethically and do not abuse mentor relationship for personal gain.
- Respond to mentor in a timely fashion.
For Mentors:
- The program is designed for guidance and advice based on the goals of the mentee. Mentors are under no obligation to present offers of employment to mentees at the completion of the structured program.
- Mentors understand that mentees are the driving force behind the mentor/mentee dynamic. Mentees are expected to coordinate a meeting schedule with their mentors for at least one time per month.
- Mentors are expected to respond to mentee questions in a timely manner.
- While the program officially culminates at the end of the Spring academic semester we encourage the mentor-mentee relationship to continue at whatever schedule the mentor and mentee agree upon.
